We're opening Roamr up to everyone.
From the beginning, our goal has been simple: make staying with friends on work trips feel normal and worth it.
To do that, we’ve focused on paying employees to choose staying with friends over a typical hotel booking. Employees get paid, hosts get paid, and companies save money.
But until now, there was a catch. To access Roamr, your company had to be signed up. The product only worked inside a corporate account. If your employer hadn't onboarded, the door was closed.
Today, that changes. Check out our launch video below.
Roamr for Friends is live for all
Most work trips follow the same pattern. You book a flight, check into a hotel, and spend a few nights in a room that costs your company more than it should. It's functional. It's lonely. And for anyone who travels frequently, it gets old fast.
We've rebuilt the Roamr experience to make booking a stay with a friend just as straightforward as booking a hotel — and more rewarding for everyone involved.
Two things define this new version of Roamr.
- People-first booking. The old flow felt too much like searching a property platform. Browsing listings, checking locations, reviewing photos — that approach makes sense when you're staying with strangers. Roamr is built around people you already know and trust. You don't need to vet a property. You send an invite link with your trip details, and your friend receives everything they need — dates, city, and a full breakdown of what you'll both earn.
- Fully compliant and expensable. Roamr is now approved in the accommodation category with Mastercard and Visa. That means you can expense a Roamr Stay just like a hotel booking, with no policy headaches for you or your finance team.
How it works
There are two ways to take advantage of Roamr for Friends.
1. Book a Roamr Stay for your next work trip
If you've got a work trip coming up, here's how to get started:
- Create your free Roamr account at Roamr.com/getpaid
- Enter your upcoming trip details — destination, dates etc
- Send your friend an invite link that includes your trip dates and the earnings breakdown for both of you
- Your friend accepts the invite — no need for them to set up a host profile, take photos, or go through a lengthy onboarding
- Book the stay, expense it like a hotel, and get paid your rewards directly
2. Earn through Roamr Referrals
If you know people who travel for work, you can earn every time they book a Roamr Stay.
- Grab your unique Roamr referral link from your account
- Share it with a colleague, friend, or anyone in your network who travels regularly for work
- When they book their first Roamr Stay, they start earning — and so do you
- You receive a share of Roamr's revenue on every trip they book for the first 12 months
There's no limit on who you can refer or how much you can earn.
Redesigning work travel for cheaper costs and richer experiences
Roamr isn't for everyone, and it's not for every trip. If you need to be somewhere specific at short notice, or you don't have a contact in that city, a hotel is still the right call.
But for the people who travel frequently — sales reps, operators, anyone regularly on the road — there's a better option sitting right in front of them. They already have the network. They're already tired of the same solo hotel stay. Roamr gives them a way to make those trips more meaningful and get rewarded for it.
It also puts you in good standing with the people holding the travel budget. Choosing Roamr means your company saves 30% on accommodation costs. Your friend hosting you earns money. You get paid too. That's a result any manager or CFO is going to appreciate.
We're redesigning work travel to cost less and mean more. If that sounds like something you want to be part of, join the Roamr community for free a Roamr.com/getpaid.
